The Gravesend Regatta is the oldest in the UK and by long standing convention Gravesham Borough Council send three Councillors to sit on it's committee and this year I am one of those three.
The long standing Chairman of the Committee Ian Stevenson is stepping down at the AGM this year. Ian has been on the committee for many years and has served the community of Gravesham for which he should be recognised.
As part of Ian's legacy however he, and the committee, wish to see how we can sustain the regatta for many years to come. That is why the committee have been working on new ways of working to get more people involved. If you value the Gravesend Regatta as part of the Borough's heritage then please get involved in any way that you can.
